Neo Hanshee Kukri – 13.5″ (Exclusive to Himalayan Blades)

The Neo Hanshee Kukri is a blade I personally designed for Himalayan Blades, blending the elegance of the traditional Hanshee kukri with modern refinements for strength, balance, and usability. At 13.5 inches, it stands as both a collector’s piece and a practical field kukri for those who appreciate history reimagined with purpose.

My Vision Behind the Design

What makes the Neo Hanshee special is its geometry. I introduced a deep hollow grind along the front belly up to the first curve, paired with a wide and deep groove on rest of the elbow portion till bolster to reduce weight. Despite of having the lightness, the kukri still has thicker spine, which dramatically improves its strength-to-weight ratio. The blade feels very nimble in hand—easy to maneuver—while still delivering powerful, heavy chops.

The extra-curved shape of the Neo Hanshee gives it agility and speed, though I’ll admit it requires a little adjustment in grip and technique compared to straighter kukris. Once you get used to it, the flow and chopping efficiency are unmatched.
