The biggest determining factor in a blade’s longevity is the steel we forge it from. We use 5160 spring steel, like the steel found in the suspension springs of large trucks. It has the ability to bend instead of break, which is extremely important for a blade that will be doing a lot of chopping.

We oil quench and double temper all of our blades and differentially harden them. This is to ensure that the edge will remain sharp and that the spine of the blade will take most of the impact. No factory is able to replicate this process.
